Mission
The Jewish View on Stem Cell Research |
|
Introduction You are the only Jew in a large college course in current issues. The class recently started discussions about stem cell research and all of the possible medical benefits that may accrue. Debates have started from various political, religious and anti-religious factions in the class. Your professor has asked you to present the Jewish take on all that has been discussed. You feel inadequate. You are not a Rabbi, nor a scientist. You are having a rough time remembering your 9th grade biology class. However, you are the only Jew in the class and every sees you as the "Moses" who will promulgate the Jewish stem cell research position to the class. Because the debate has gotten so emotional and heated, you have been asked to be prepared for the next class, one week from tonight. |
